Third Week of Easter
Acts 9:31-42
Jn: 6:60-69
Can't but help to think many of us heard those words of today's gospel in times of doubt or when we see scandal and corruption in the Church...the words "To whom shall we go?" We must remember when Jesus presents himself as the bread of life the apostles want to leave with the crowd and Jesus knows what they are thinking and he turns to them and ask them the question "Do you want to leave also?" It's Peters answer, the first among the apostles who speaks up and said basically "Where would we go?" "To whom?" You see for them, and hopefully for each of us Jesus is everything! There is nothing else! There is nowhere to go! Jesus is our life! That's real love isn't it! To stay with Jesus who stays with us! To abide with Him as he abides with us! To be ALWAYS in the presence of the Lord is the heart of discipleship with Him. So, we answer Him, "Master to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
